ABSTRACT

Chapter 4 looks into relations between Ha-Zvi and the rest of the Jewish Palestine press from 1908 on. The Young Turks Revolution triggered a far-reaching media revolution, reflected in a major increase in the number of newspapers, most of them dailies; larger print runs; linguistic diversification (Hebrew, Arabic, Ladino, Yiddish); and growing strength of the popular-press genre.

The media revolution was also manifested in the appearance of publishing houses that churned out pamphlets for the masses that everyone could afford.
