ABSTRACT

In Sri Lanka, post-war reconciliation is not only about Sinhala and Tamil communities. It also involves the Muslims, the second largest minority. The explosion of ethnic riots that took place against the Muslim community indicated that Sri Lankan ethnic groups, instead of coming together, had drifted away from one another. Hence, this chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of the escalation of violence between the Sinhalese and the Muslims and their problems with the Tamil community.
