ABSTRACT

Purpose, Postulations, and Positionalities describes the influential factors that shaped the contents of the book. We share how and why we came together to write the book, including the intentions, understandings, goals, and assumptions we brought to the project. We also introduce ourselves and discuss how our positionalities (i.e., our multiple identities and their relation to power and privilege) influence our experiences and approaches to teaching diversity courses. We include a dialogue among us discussing our hopes and fears for the book and offer resources for further reflection and reading.
