ABSTRACT

The numerous global indexes and reports have achieved the objective of showcasing the problems and suggesting possible solutions. The hope for the future rests on the idea that global institutions take direct action via full cooperation and coordination with national and local governments. Of special significance to the global community’s welfare and progress over the post-war period were some of the key UN agencies. The United Nations itself is a great asset to the world. Its General Assembly is like a world parliament to debate and discuss issues of concern for the humanity at large as well as for the people of specific countries. The good news is that the UN has taken some serious steps in regard to its reform. Food, the primary necessity for survival, is all important. In the background of economic growth and development since the Industrial Revolution, organizations of the UN system did their best to ensure minimal hunger and starvation.
