ABSTRACT
The following two chapters draw more specifically on Freud’s work on the uncanny, first in relation to alligators and crocodiles as vehicles and vectors for the uncanny as monstrous creatures. This chapter diagnoses the symptoms, and engages in a talking cure, of the psychogeopathology of demonizing these creatures. This chapter also considers the close encounter of Australian eco-feminist Val Plumwood with a crocodile.
