ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we explore the relationships between student activists and educators and administrators, triangulating elements from prior literature, our lived experiences, and interview data from student activists and campus educators. Educators and administrators cause a strain on the relationship between themselves and student activists by placating, ignoring, and gaslighting student activists. We also share barriers that educators face when supporting student activists, including unclear expectations and consequences for supporting student activists.
