ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the situation of the Oedipus complex in puberty and the effects of the post-pubertal operation of après-coup on the symbolic, relational and identificatory organisation. The transformations of the body image in puberty are studied, as well as the repetitions, acting out and somatisations involved in symbolisation when faced with biological sexual maturity. Learning to live with uncertainty is a characteristic feature of the period of adolescence, which makes it a particularly fruitful moment for analytic work.
