ABSTRACT
This chapter offers a review of the different perspectives according to which we can understand and utilise the concepts of positions: from the most basic – the developmental – to the most dynamic – the Weltanschauung – these perspectives belong to the revolution brought about by the concepts of the third type in our way of thinking about the theoretical corpus of psychoanalysis today. The clinical and metapsychological contributions of this concept are of interest for all the aspects of psychoanalytic work.
