ABSTRACT

In this chapter we summarise the main findings of the book. Policy implications are delivered with respect to the importance of preventive and family-based approaches to youth crime, together with support needed for parents at the deeper ends of the justice system. We draw from research as well as the narratives of parents in highlighting these issues. Our focus then explores the importance of re-framing research on parenting, together with the implications for the academic field of prisoners’ families, where we highlight connections and disconnections with this body of work.
