ABSTRACT

James Mason had previously gotten in trouble with the law, having been arrested in 1973 for a racially based assault. After SIEGE ended, he was arrested again in 1988 for taking nude pictures of a 15-year-old girl. (He was frequently involved with young teenagers.) While he received only a misdemeanor for this, in 1991 he was arrested again for possessing the same pictures. By this time, he had largely dropped out of any political work. Tired of Ohio, where he was born and raised, as well as with his troubles with the law, in 1992 he moved to a small town in Colorado. The authorities agreed to this—“with the stipulation that Mason not return to Ohio without permission from his parole officer.”
