ABSTRACT
The poem is the last item in Bodley MS. Laud Misc. 108, on fol. 237. The same late fourteenth- or early fifteenth-century scribe copied three saints lives to follow the earlier texts of Havelok and King Horn. The dialect of Somer Soneday shows some west midland features; see Oakden (1930:116–17); and M. Görlach, The Textual Tradition of the South English Legendary (Leeds, 1974:89).
