ABSTRACT

Christ sent forth his disciples “two by two” into every city. The evangelization of the world was begun at Pentecost in a great city. The cities evangelized mean the world evangelized. As in the day of Paul, the strongest enemies of the cross of Christ are in the great cities. The Word of God is light at war with darkness, health contending with disease, life in conflict with death. The man who preaches faithfully the message of God must expect to “fight the good fight of faith.” There was at Ephesus a band of Jews under one Sceva, a renegade chief priest, who had come to Ephesus to make money by pretending to cast out evil spirits. Paul was himself so full of the Spirit that everything about him was saturated with power. The church within the church who believe in prayer are the tinder ready to receive the fire of the Holy Spirit.
