ABSTRACT
Chapter 10 is about issues related to parenting, including culture, beliefs, and parenting practices. A brief history of parenting, and parenting science and research is presented. Issues related to contemporary parenting are discussed. Influences of culture and upbringing on parenting are presented to draw attention to similarities and differences in sources of parenting practices across some cultures.
