ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 provides a brief background on the science of resilience and its concept to lay the grounds for arguing that a positive teacher–child relationship is a promotive factor of resilience and mental health wellbeing in children. The chapter goes on to describe examples of two widely used approaches, behavioral vs. therapeutic play, which have been used across programs at early childhood classroom level and shown some success. The influence of digital media on child mental health is also briefly discussed.
