ABSTRACT
The Global Resources Information Database, or GRID, is a computer-based, interactive georeferenced global database and data management mechanism. It represents an important addition and innovation in the framework of the Global Environment Monitoring System (GEMS), and is an attempt to respond to changing requirements and expectations.
