ABSTRACT
This chapter begins with an overview of the primary sources of education law, including the federal Constitution and state constitutions, federal and state legislation, the common law, and local school board policies. The federal judicial structure and state court systems are introduced. We then describe how to read court opinions, write case briefs, and cite legal materials.
