ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the process of the almost four decades of the reform through the Four Amendments, i.e., 1988, 1993, 1999, and 2004. Generally speaking, if the 1982 constitution was oriented towards the 1954 constitution modeled after the Soviet constitution of 1936, the Four Amendments moved in a different direction. The movement for the Four Amendments had occurred in the midst of an enormous amount of borrowing in legislation from the Western legal system.
