ABSTRACT

Entrepreneurial interest in green business opportunities can be ascertained in different ways. Following the Green Revolution of the 1960s, global food markets experienced nearly half a century during which the planet–with the notable exception of certain highly indebted poor countries –enjoyed an increasing abundance of food. Strong codes have demonstrably been a real fillip for green construction. The benchmark in this area is a standard formulated by the United States Green Building Council and widely referred to as LEED or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. There are several reasons for the rapid spread of green construction. The outlook for green transportation can only be fully analysed in the context of broader phenomena such as population dispersion, migration patterns and general economic flows. Population growth and proximity to water used to be correlated. The construction industry is comprised of myriad sub-sectors, each with its own environmental profile.
