ABSTRACT

The Introduction sets the tone and the agenda for the rest of the book. Its aim is to encourage a dialogue to begin between the reader and the text.

The key themes presented include first and foremost that Ethics is about “living” questions and living those questions. The questions concern the quality of our choices and how they impact our lives.

Since this book serves as a Business Ethics text, the context in which these questions are to be studied is that of global capitalism, and the macro and micro pressure within businesses that inhibit ethical behavior.

The stage is set for understanding what it means to develop ethical competency by studying and practicing ethics.
