Introduction

The introduction provides an overview of the book, grounded in transnational black feminist and affect theories. Specifically, it examines the role of “history” within our present-day culture and how the Black feminist imagination in particular relies on historical consciousness to centralize and locate Black women in the past throughout the African Diaspora.
