ABSTRACT

This Introduction provides an outline of some of the themes in this book. It notes that employee performance and employee well-being are two of the main desirable outcomes for an organization. Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 respectively describe employee performance and employee well-being. Chapter 3 outlines some issues associated with simultaneously enhancing both employee performance and employee well-being. Chapter 4 provides a brief overview of the traditional approaches for enhancing employee performance and well-being. Chapters 5, 6, 7, and 8 respectively focus on transformational leadership, organizational justice, organizational support, and workplace spirituality, while Chapter 9 provides some reflections on implementing inputs from these areas.
