ABSTRACT

This chapter outlines the nature and aims of neighbourhood planning in England and discusses the circumstances for both the production of the neighbourhood plan for my own locality and the production of this volume. In addition, the aims and audiences for this book are specified, as well as the main analytical themes addressed in the book and the contribution that the book offers to both academic and practitioner engagement with neighbourhood planning. Finally, the core content and emergent findings of each chapter are outlined, and the primary conclusions and critical arguments that are established through these chapters are highlighted.
