ABSTRACT

Chapter 14 addresses the political psychology of conflict resolution, and in particular conflict avoidance and resolution strategies. It covers conflict resolution strategies that can be used to reconcile groups engaged in various forms of conflict. These include war tribunals, truth and reconciliation commissions, and integration strategies; the chapter also discusses intractable conflicts. Throughout the world, different approaches are tried to resolve conflict. The success of these strategies depends on the particular circumstances of the conflict, then finding solutions to address them appropriately.
