ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses systems and project business. A Business-to-Business (B2B) system is a combination of products, services, technologies and consulting supplied in a package to meet the needs of a purchaser. Daikin Company, a leading international air conditioning system manufacturer and supplier, produces and supplies a range of air conditioning systems and products, and has operations internationally and in Africa. A B2B systems buying process thus involves a considerable period of information sharing and negotiation between the parties. Consulting companies and systems integrators are an essential part of systems business (SB). A project is defined as a set of temporary marketing and management activities and relationships to achieve specified goals. Systems supplied by Tenece may be going to a project in the oil and gas industry. The liberalisation and growth of African economies have expanded the private sector.
