ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses some general tips and guidelines, an explanation about the different kinds of resume formats, and then some more specific information and recommendations for creating a resume. A resume is an important tool in the search for an internship or job. One of the best ways to stand out is to submit a resume that is responsive to the internship or job announcement. Current students and emerging professionals with little to no work experience should include their education at the beginning of a resume. The work experience section is the real meat of any resume. There are varying opinions about whether to include hobbies on a resume. The resumes and cover letters are obsolete, but as the author's memories fade, they provide a valuable history of his internship and job searches. The hybrid resume blends education and skills focused on editing with no paid work experience.
