ABSTRACT
Mr. Shaffer wished he could pinpoint exactly why Jake’s long hair seemed to get under his skin. Other boys in the class had even longer hair, but it was clean and pulled back into a ponytail. Their hair didn’t bother him, but Jake’s did; it was greasy, stringy, shoulder length and all over the place.
