ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 looks at the rationale for investigating the topic of teacher talk. After examining the attitudes of EFL teachers towards teacher talk, a definition is provided. This introductory chapter also sets out the practical aim of the study, which is to provide specific language development for EFL teachers and student-teachers.
