ABSTRACT
Further to lexis and grammar, Chapter 6 looks at the phonology of language explanations and directives. In addition, the section on ‘discourse’ looks at teacher talk beyond the level of the sentence. Here too, the dual role of classroom discourse will be explored and examples from both native and non-native CONNEcT will be provided.
