ABSTRACT
Spontaneous drawing can lead to the most unexpected discoveries that the ego has no knowledge of or has repressed well beyond memory. Bobby as an angry young boy of 12 carried a story in his unconscious apparently since birth. Without the medium of the spontaneous drawings that he began at the age of three-and-a-half years, his story may have remained hidden in the depths. Whatever the reality of the story itself the unconscious processed it as it intended and a full release of libido was experienced as a result. Jung says we do not know in advance from where the light may come but relating to unconscious images activates a process which leads to a transcendence of a psychic situation and a passage onto a new stage of development.
