ABSTRACT
Answers to the Alcohol Moderation Assessment predicts the likelihood that an individual will be successful in practicing alcohol moderation. An individual can take the test on his or her own and have a direction for making lifestyle changes, or the assessment can be used as part of a treatment program. While several of the questions are about childhood and adolescence, the person filling it out should be thinking about the last six months of functioning. If an individual associates drinking with specific events, it may be more challenging to moderate drinking. If nights and weekends signal drinking time, it will be very important to develop new associations. The amount and frequency of alcohol use can increase. There are some obvious all-or-nothing predictors related to medical conditions. The most common include pregnancy, cirrhosis, elevated liver enzymes, diabetes, or cancer.
