The mental skills in this book, if practiced and used in competition, will help ensure that you achieve your performance potential. Reaching your potential is more than just the outcome of a competition; it also is about the journey. At the end of the season, only one team/athlete goes home a winner. However, everyone can have a positive experience competing. Success requires self-discipline and hard work. The self-management skills that help you prepare to compete in sport are life skills that will help you in other endeavors, as well.
