ABSTRACT

This final chapter examines farce in the pandemic era and how practitioners have found ways to collaborate through online platforms like Zoom to continue to produce work. For a theatrical form that has always lived in the physical, the chapter surveys pieces where Zoom was employed for farcical purposes and technology became the necessary digital venue for exploring life’s follies. Through laughter that is bawdy and of the body, ‘Exits’ asks where farce goes next and gives reason to pursue it, particularly during times of uncertainty, division, and upheaval.
