ABSTRACT

The present chapter explores HT as an organisation. It starts by focusing on the transnational character of the group and continues by examining HT’s structure. The latter is presented as being very similar to the M-Form model adopted by several transnational corporations. The chapter puts in evidence the clear division of roles and responsibilities within HT’s structure as well as the equilibrium between the global and local dimension of the group. This chapter highlights HT’s so called “LoGlo” Strategy and provides a clear picture of how local cells are connected to central leadership as well as of how local themes are always intertwined with the group’s main claim: the importance of re-establishing the Caliphate.
