ABSTRACT
This chapter investigates HT’s role as an agent challenging the West as a system. More specifically, the chapter analyses the foundations of the “war of ideas” HT is currently conducting in Western states in the social and political fields. Not only this chapter identifies the ideological premises of this intellectual war, but it also reveals the strategies used by the organisation to depict the West as a rotten model in all fields. Using complex reasoning and references to historical facts, HT stresses the incompatibility between Western core pillars (such as democracy and personal freedom) and Islam, calling Muslims through the da’wah to work for the re-establishment of the Caliphate as a religious duty and to join the group.
