ABSTRACT

Welcome to the first edition of Maths 5–11: A guide for teachers. Over the years, many books have been published to help teachers improve and enhance their mathematical subject knowledge, their pedagogy and the various facets of teaching mathematics, including planning and assessment. This book is slightly different. There is, of course, a focus on subject knowledge and pedagogy, but there is also an emphasis on the progressions within the mathematical concepts we teach and on making connections across these mathematical concepts.
