ABSTRACT

According to former head of NHS Digital, Kingsley Manning, he repeatedly clashed with Theresa May’s Home Office over requests to hand over confidential patient data to help trace ‘immigration offenders’. With respect to the education system, Sally Weale education correspondent for the Guardian, has pointed out how headteachers and campaigners have expressed outrage at the fact that pupils who are among the poorest in society are missing out on free school meals because their parents/carers have no access to benefits as a part of the rule introduced in 2012 known as ‘no recourse to public funds’. On 1 March 2017 a the Guardian investigation reported that ‘Britain is one of the worst destinations for people seeking asylum in western Europe’, taking fewer refugees; offering less generous financial support; providing housing that is often sub-standard; and not giving asylum seekers the right to work.
