This system enhancement option (also commonly called plug in, add-on, third party, canned solution, commercial off-the-shelf products, boxed solution, and bolt-on) typically permits companies to purchase and install additional functional capability. For our purposes, we will call this system enhancement option bolt-on throughout this text. Bolt-on packages can perform the following functions:
