ABSTRACT

I NTRODUCTION Participative management is a logical extension of the psychology of encouragement. As leaders and associates develop mutual respect, in volvement, and commitment to their common goals, the stage is set for the development of participative management. Participative management is a leadership philosophy underlying a wide range of employee involve ment efforts. It is based on the concept that employees closest to the job have the necessary experience and knowledge to develop the best solu tions to job-related problems. Participative management can help tap unused human resources by increasing employee involvement on the job and commitment to organizational goals, as .ell as improving the quality of work.
