I NTRODUCTION An essential ingredient of leadership by encouragement is truly valuing and respecting workers. The philosophy of the encouraging leader is integrated with the psychology of leadership. The following characteristics of both the philosophy and the psychology of leadership provide an overview of the orientation of the encouraging leader.
