ABSTRACT

The Theory of Constraints (TOC) states that the capacity of any manufacturing process is limited by its capacity-constraining resource (CCR) or constraint. The Goal uses a Boy Scout hike to illustrate the principle that no set of interdependent activities can operate more quickly than its slowest part (Figure 1-1). A line of hikers illustrates the Theory of Constraints. https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780429272387/ac2cc646-0f63-4e42-a92c-a79fc68cbd6d/content/fig1_1.tif" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/>
