ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 is a nautical landscape made as a psycho-educational tool based on the sea as a metaphor for child development. The nautical landscape provides a way of thinking about parenting that puts the child development processes in the centre of attention. This landscape builds upon the nautical metaphorics of the perilous sea voyages and seamanship as a way to relate to child development – and thereby better the understanding of the parent-–child relation.
