Partnerships and collaboration in tourism book
The importance of involving different stakeholders in tourism planning and management received growing recognition during the last decade of the twentieth century. As Bramwell and Lane claimed, ‘stakeholder collaboration and partnership has the potential to lead to dialogue, negotiation and consensus building of mutually acceptable proposals about how tourism should be developed’. Via case studies in the Arctic and Africa, this chapter evaluates the processes involved in, the benefits of, and problems associated with tourism partnerships.
