ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the choices women made—to leave or to remain in their marriages—and the issues and sacrifices they had to face because of those choices. It talks about the ones who left and how being a single parent, or a shared-custody parent, has worked out and how the ones who remained in their marriages made them work. This chapter discusses both groups: their regrets and relief, and what their relationships with their husbands or ex husbands have become. Also discusses are the women who are realizing that they can stay married, be a lesbian, and have worthwhile relationships with those they love.
