ABSTRACT
Chapter 9 introduces the related concepts of loss and risk aversion, which cause us to value what we already have more than we should and fear loss more than gain. As a result, we fail to make the sacrifices necessary to conclude mutually beneficial agreements, we hold on to jobs we no longer want, pursue degrees and even careers simply because we have started them, and thus miss opportunities to grow ourselves and our businesses.
