Inversions of V7 and the Passing 64 (7̂ , 2̂ , and 4̂  in the Bass)

Example 5.1 is an expanded version of Example 4.1. In this version, three measures have been added, which show inversions of V⁷, with the seventh (4̂), the fifth (2̂), and the third (7̂) of the chord in the bass. As always, pay special attention to the 4̂–3̂ voice leading, which is characteristic of the resolution from V⁷ to I.
