ABSTRACT

This module introduces vii°7, which is only available in the minor mode because the root of the chord is the Leading tone and the seventh is ♭6̂. This chord (and each of its inversions) is a lot like V7 in that it shares many of the same essential voice leadings and also typically resolves to i. Example 6.1 shows those voice leadings, including 4̂–3̂, which was mentioned in both of the previous modules, and 6̂–5̂, which is unique to the resolution of vii°7 to i.
