ABSTRACT

In order to understand Plato’s theory of moral education and the varying effectiveness of habituation in childhood and adulthood, this chapter discusses Plato’s theory of dialogue in its role. We provide a discussion of Plato’s theory of dialogue by turning to his Seventh Letter, a text neglected by scholars of Plato interested in his theory of moral education. In this chapter we introduce the importance of “epiphanies” in Plato’s theory of moral education.
