ABSTRACT
The sudden emergence of religious fundamentalism during the last two decades has come as a surprise to many and especially to those who assumed that religions would diminish from the sphere of international geopolitics. The famous statement of Fukuyama about the ‘End of History’ and the theories of secularization have become questionable as the social dynamics of religions across the globe and more specifically in the postcolonial Global South are thriving. The Class of Civilizations would seem to fit better the current situation. However, this theory also cannot explain the intensive sectarian classes that we witness within religions. A different theoretical approach therefore has to be implemented in order to explain this predicament. This study suggests a different way of approaching this phenomenon with the use of an interdisciplinary dialectic kaleidoscopic analysis.
