ABSTRACT

This final chapter draws together the key findings of the research study, including the positive potentials of peer mentoring and barriers encountered. It contextualises the current challenges facing peer mentoring in criminal justice, including internal and external tensions, before summarising how these findings make a valuable and original contribution to knowledge. The five overarching themes of identity; agency; values; change; and power are summarised. The chapter then closes by noting some of the limitations of the study in order to consider how these may be overcome in future research.
