The American Correctional Association (ACA) website describes it as the oldest and largest international correctional association in the world. The ACA provides professional development, correctional standards, accreditation, consultation, conferences, workshops and publications. The American Jail Association (AJA) is a national non-profit organization. AJA focuses on the operations of local correctional facilities and provides technical assistance, jail officer certification, jail management, jail training and the American Jails magazine. Amnesty International is the largest grassroots human rights organization in the world. Previously awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Amnesty International provides human rights investigations, education and activities focused on challenging human rights abuses. The Center for Court Innovation is a public or private partnership that focuses on victim services, crime reduction, and improving public perceptions of the criminal justice system. The organization also focuses on specialty or problem courts, and in New York State conducts research in the court system designed to test court innovations.
